John Craft, RUF Campus Minister

John grew up in Memphis, TN.  After graduating from Vanderbilt University, where he studied philosophy and film studies, he moved to Athens, GA to complete a two year internship with RUF at the University of Georgia.  While at intern training, he met his wife, Leigh, who was an RUF intern at Winthrop University.  After getting married, John and Leigh moved to St. Louis, MO to attend Covenant Theological Seminary.  After graduating and doing some college ministry in St. Louis, John and Leigh moved to Chattanooga in 2007 to work for RUF at the University of Tennessee Chattanooga.  John and Leigh have two children, William and Lizzie.



Derrick Beining, RUF Intern

Derrick is a second year intern. He grew up in northeast metro-Atlanta (Lawrenceville/Buford), and graduated from Georgia Southern University in Statesboro, GA. He dreams of being an avid runner and outdoors enthusiast, but in reality prefers a book and a hot drink. Despite lacking the gift of gab, Derrick loves an honest discussion about faith and doubts, about things people are passionate about, and about anything else that involves putting the mind to work.



Lauren Gardner, RUF Intern

Lauren is a first year intern.  She is from Oklahoma and graduated from Oklahoma State with a degree in Art History.  She loves climbing and funny people.  


Carly Moss, RUF Staff

Carly is from Lookout Mountain, Georgia, a graduate of the University of Kentucky with a degree in economics, and a former RUF intern at Furman University. She is also a newlywed- Carly and Doug were married in August. She will be working with RUF @ UTC part time while pursing a master's in Counseling at Richmont Graduate University.  Her hopes and dreams are wrapped in her skills on a mountain bike. She hopes one day that her dreams will turn into visions and she will become the greatest rider in the world.
